Power outages

Some issues have arisen this summer regarding electrical service:

  • Maintenance power outages scheduled during the pandemic and heat wave
  • Unscheduled outages due to aging infrastructure within the neighborhood
  • An increasing number of Flex Alerts, which call for consumers to voluntarily conserve electricity when there is a predicted shortage
  • Changes to monthly Southern California Edison (SCE) billing as a result of the new electricity provider for Palm Springs, Desert Community Energy (DCE)
